Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Invites Muslims to Actively Study

Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Prof. Drs. KH. Yudian Wahyudi, MA., Ph.D. said, by fasting during Ramadan, Allah SWT will forgive the sins of Muslims. But there are sins of Muslims that Allah SWT will not forgive before an expression of sincere forgiveness between fellow humans. Therefore, after the fasting during Ramadan and Eid prayer, each community of Muslims in Indonesia formed an activity called halal bi halal. It was intended that fellow Muslims meet in this activity, and pledged to forgive each other (halal bihalal). The halal bihalal moment is the most appropriate moment for Muslims to open their hearts, forgive each other, so that the heart becomes clean again without hatred among fellow Muslims. Because sometimes opening the heart to mutual forgiveness among fellow Muslims is very difficult to do, without opening the right moment as in the bihalal halal activity.

Therefore the bihalal halal culture that exists in this country needs to be preserved. Rest assured that Allah SWT will forgive every sin among others through halal bihalal. So that we become fitri after 1 month of Ramadan fasting and halal bihalal, both sins to Allah SWT and sins with fellow human beings. This was stated by Prof. Yudian Wahyudi in the halal bihalal, Syawalan and the release of prospective pilgrims for the big family of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, located in Prof. Dr. HM. Amin Abdullah, local campus, 12/6/19. Furthermore, Prof. Yudian Wahyudi conveyed, besides halal bihalal, Muslims in Indonesia have a syawalan culture. According to Prof. Yudian Wahyudi, syawalan has a different meaning from halal bihalal. Syawalan means accountability. Every Muslim is destined to become a leader. To become a leader someone must have knowledge, so in order to be able to become a leader, Muslims must study throughout their lives. And that will be held accountable before Allah SWT. In the Qur'an the obligations of Iqro are mentioned (read). The meaning is the obligation to study.

The Idul Fitri moment is the right time for self reflection, what we have done before, related to the obligation to study. Prof. Yudian Wahyudi hopes, through the halal bihalal and syawalan activities of UIN Sunan Kalijaga this time, it will be a spirit of mutual relations to establish good deeds and to study knowledge that is beneficial for the environment, for others and for the development of UIN Sunan Kalijaga campus, as a manifestation of our devotion to Allah SWT. Prof. Yudian Wahyudi believes, by continuing to maintain a clean heart, establishing good relationships with others, doing the smallest good deeds and being passionate about life-long learning will bring happiness in the world and in the future. Because sin is only one, while the reward is many times, said Prof. Yudian.

Meanwhile, Prof. Muhammad Chirzin in his lecture at the halal bihalal forum this time, among others, conveyed about the spirit of struggle that needs to be understood by every Muslim in order to become a believer and be able to achieve happiness in the world and the hereafter, which Prof. Muhammad Chirzin is called Elan Vital and the Muslim Charity Ethos. Elan explained that means the spirit of struggle. Vital means important. Ethos means a life view. Amal means good deeds that bring rewards. So what needs to be understood and done by Muslims in order to become believers include: Believers as perpetrators, activists (Quran 16: verse 97, QS 9: 105). The believer is a mujahid / warrior / hero (Qur'an 49:15). Believers must be istiqomah (Qur'an 41:30). Believers must be patient and endure the test (Qur'an 3: 200, Qur'an 33:35). The believer must be faithful friends / care / caring (QS 5: 2, QS 9:71). In addition to the vital and charitable ethos, to be a believer, Muslims should only hang all their affairs to Allah SWT through do'a do'a which is always offered only to Allah SWT.

At the halal bi halal forum this time, the Chancellor of UIN Sunan Kalijaga carried out the release of the pilgrimage of 12 lecturers and employees who would carry out the pilgrimage this year marked by the handover of souvenirs. The agenda of the meeting was ended by shaking hands from the leadership, lecturers and stakeholders of Sunan Kalijaga UIN Yogyakarta. (Public Relations Team)
