Hundreds of students in green alma mater jackets gathered at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta for the official launch of KKN Nusantara 2025 and KKN Berdampak. Held on Monday, July 7, 2025, the event marked a ceremonial and symbolic departure for the students, who left not just as students, but as agents of change with a mission to serve and learn.
Rector Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan emphasized KKN as a transformative experience.
“Yogyakarta is a space of cultural convergence. Here, you’ll learn to embrace
diversity and live with character,” he said. He described this year’s theme,
“Merawat Ekoteologi, Membangun Negeri” (Caring for Ecotheology, Building the
Nation), as a holistic expression of faith and environmental commitment.
Vice Rector Dr. Abdur Rozaki urged students to act with sincerity. “Work with the people, not above them. Be part of the solution,” he said.
A total of 340 students from 34 PTKIN and one PTKIS will be stationed in Kalibawang, Kulon Progo. They represent a national mosaic of diversity and unity.
Lilik Andi Aryanto, Head of Kesbangpol DIY, encouraged inclusivity and
ethics in public service, while Dr. Nur Khafid of the Ministry of Religious
Affairs reminded students of Sunan Kalijaga’s legacy of integration and
relevance.
The ceremony also included the symbolic handover of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan
insurance and a collective handprint on an "ecotheology tree"—a
pledge of care. The balloon release into the Yogyakarta sky sealed the spirit
of their upcoming journey.
